BOBCATS DROP A PAIR UP NORTH TO MIT

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - In their first action up north, the Bobcats dropped a doubleheader to MIT, 4-3 in eight innings in the first game and 13-6 in the second.

The Bobcats rallied in the top of the seventh to tie the game and send it into extra innings. The Bobcats got six strong innings of pitching from junior Drew Blicharz (Rutland, Vt.), but the Engineers broke the tie in the bottom eighth against junior Jason Coulie (Manchester, N.H.). In the second game, the Engineer bats came alive, scoring two runs in every inning but the sixth. Junior Austin Philbin (Clinton, Mass.) had a triple in his first action of the season after a knee injury.
