non-conference baseball games today, 1-0 and 7-2, at the University
of Maine-Farmington. UMF (8-13) committed two errors in the first inning of game two, allowing rookie 2B Adam Taranto (Sudbury, Mass.) to break onto the board. The Beavers answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning, on a pair of two-run home runs by Writer and catcher Tom Ventura off senior starter Shane Delaney (Needham, Mass.). Taranto walked with the bases loaded in the second, but Maine-Farmington shut the Bobcats down after that.
